Full Salary Range $13.63 - $16.28/ hour

The City of Covington is currently seeking lifeguards to work at the Covington Aquatic Center. Lifeguards are responsible for patron life safety, patron surveillance, water safety education, enforcing safety rules, and responding to emergencies and difficult situations in an appropriate manner. With appropriate training, lifeguards are responsible for teaching swimming lessons, cashiering, front desk customer service, janitorial tasks, and other tasks as assigned.
This is a regular, ongoing part-time position with weekly work hours that may vary, depending on need and the assigned work schedule, but the typical work schedule will be less than 20 hours per week. Additional work hours may be available on a temporary basis, such as during the summer months. 
Required:   Certifications include American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, First Aid, CPR, and AED.  A Northwest Lifeguard Certification is preferred, but may be obtained within the first 6 months. Prefer candidates 18 years of age or older to work early and late shifts.

WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR

Full salary range $17.14 - $20.47 per hour

The City of Covington is seeking Water Safety Instructors (swim instructors) to work at the Covington Aquatic Center. Water Safety Instructors are responsible for patron life safety, patron surveillance, instruction (e.g. teaching swimming lessons, leading water exercise classes, etc.), supervision, record keeping, completing progress reports, and other tasks as assigned.
This is a regular, ongoing part-time position with weekly work hours that may vary, depending on need and the assigned work schedule, but the typical work schedule will be less than 20 hours per week. Additional work hours may be available on a temporary basis, such as during the summer months.
Required certifications include American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, First Aid, CPR, AED, and Water Safety Instructor.  A Northwest Lifeguard certification is preferred, but may be obtained within the first 6 months.
