Highways
Highway 18 provides northeast to southwest access from Snoqualmie and Interstate 90 to Covington and into Federal Way and the Interstate 5 interchange. State Route 516 covers east to west access from Maple Valley to Covington, Kent, a Highway 167 interchange, an Interstate 5 interchange and ends in the waterfront town of Des Moines. Covington is 45 minutes southeast of downtown Seattle and 30 minutes northeast of downtown Tacoma.

Covington is located 18 miles from the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (Sea-Tac Airport). This is the 17th busiest international airport in the nation – handling more than 31 million passengers in 2007. Twenty-seven passenger airlines operate at Sea-Tac Airport and offer domestic and international flights and package services. Sea-Tac Airport is near King County Regional Airport, home to many smaller airlines that serve local business communities with short commuter flights.
