Fire Authority to Open Cooling Centers for Extreme Heat

The Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority will be setting up several cooling centers today.

Cooling centers will provide bottled water and air conditioning for those that need to get out of the high temperatures we are expecting for the rest of this week.

The locations:
Covington Library 27100 164 Ave. SE. Covington
Kent Library 212 2 Ave. N. Kent
Valley View Library 17850 Military Rd. S. SeaTac
Kent Commons
Community Center 525 4 Ave. N. Kent
Seatac Community Center 13735 24 Ave. S. SeaTac
Kent Senior Center 600 E. Smith St. Kent

The cooling centers will be available during each building’s normal business hours.

Other locations to escape the heat include:
Malls
Movie theaters
Museums

Regardless of where you go, stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and check on others who might be affected by the high temperatures.
