The Swimming Merit Badge Clinic is a 4-hour clinic which allows for Scouts to begin and perhaps complete the Eagle-required Swimming Merit Badge. The clinic is facilitated by a Merit Badge Counselor and staffed with American Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructors and Lifeguards.
Scouts should bring the following materials to the clinic:
- Blue Card (must be signed by Scoutmaster)
- Water Bottle (recommended)
- Swimming Merit Badge Pamphlet (optional)
The clinic will be held:
Note: Scouts must pass the BSA Swim Test in order to complete the Swimming Merit Badge requirements. If a Scout is unable to pass the BSA Swim Test, they will be given the opportunity to continue in the clinic to gain the knowledge and practice of required skills but will not be marked as completed. Additionally, some Scouts may complete only a portion of the required skills during the clinic.
