Youth Council


PURPOSE:
T
o involve youth in local government, increase volunteerism among youth in civic affairs, increase communication with youth in the community, involve youth in planning youth activities in Covington, and to serve as an advisory body to the City Council on matters dealing with youth in the community.

DETAILS:
Youth Council members are between the ages of 15 and 18 at the time of selection and reside or attend school within the City of Covington or a three-mile radius of city limits. Selected Youth Council members shall each serve for a term of one year and there is no limit on the number of terms a Youth Council member may apply for and be appointed to. There are also two adult leader positions that serve two year terms.
