City Council Appoints Jennifer Harjehausen to Position #2

At its meeting on Tuesday, April 9, Covington City Council appointed Jennifer Harjehausen to fill vacant council position #2, with the term ending when a jharj2candidate is elected to the position this November.  

Jennifer has a history of volunteer involvement with the City of Covington including service as chair of the City’s PREPAC (Parks and Recreation Priorities Advisory Committee) and as a member of the City’s Arts Commission and Planning Commission. Jennifer was also honored by the City Council as Covington’s 2018 Citizen of the Year.

Jennifer has been heavily involved with local schools and has served on various committees within the Kent School District including the Family Engagement Task Force and Citizens Budget Review Committee. She has served on several PTSA Boards as well.

Jennifer is employed as a project manager for a clinic trials laboratory and has degrees in Marine Biology and Molecular Cellular & Development Biology. Jennifer and her husband have been married for over 20 years and are raising four children in Covington.

The Covington City Council meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in council chambers at Covington City Hall, 16720 SE 271st St. in Covington.
