City of Covington Seeking Applicants for Various Commissions and Youth Council

The following volunteer opportunities are available:

• Arts Commission – Applicants may be adults or youth (14-18 years of age) who live or work inside of Covington city limits. Applicants may live outside of city limits; however, they must live within a three-mile radius. The Arts Commission meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. with occasional special meetings and workshops. Contact Recreation & Cultural Arts Manager Pat Patterson at 253-480-2482 or ppatterson@covingtonwa.gov for questions regarding this commission. Interview date(s) to be determined.

• Parks & Recreation Commission – Applicants may be adults or youth (14-18 years of age) who live inside of Covington city limits or live within a three-mile radius of city limits. The Parks & Recreation Commission meets the third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. with occasional special meetings and workshops. Contact Parks & Recreation Director Ethan Newton at 253-480-2481 or enewton@covingtonwa.gov for questions regarding this commission. Interview date(s) to be determined.

• Youth Council: Youth Members – Ongoing openings for youth ages 15 to 18 who live within city limits or attend school in Covington and live within three miles of city limits. The Youth Council meets the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Applications may be obtained by contacting Sr. Deputy City Clerk Joan Michaud at 253-480-2409 or jmichaud@covingtonwa.gov.
