Community Workshop Regarding Tree Preservation Standards Set for Jan. 16 at 6:30 p.m.


Notice is Hereby Given, that the Planning Commission is conducting a review of Covington Municipal Code (CMC) Chapter 18.45 Tree Preservation and Protection as part of their 2018 through 2020 work schedule.

Earlier this year, staff met with the Planning Commission and were directed to evaluate current regulations and include more protection of biodiversity, increase the retention and preservation of trees on any size lot, and create incentives for developers. Based on the information reviewed, policy statements were developed that are currently being evaluated.

The Planning Commission will conduct a Community Engagement Workshop to gather feedback on what Covington residents think about the developed policy statements through a preference exercise.

The purpose of the workshop is to gauge community perception related to policy statements regarding tree preservation and protection.
